Very happy with purchase thus far. Seems to be a nice hand held CB unit. Going to add an exterior antenna, rechargeable batteries, and a mount for in my Jeep TJ.

I took this on vacation and it worked like a charm. I do wish it had a longer distance. For the price, it is well worth buying!
item came in very quick. love the item after I got an adapter and was able to put an actual fiberglass antenna magnetic mount.
VERY GOOD RADIO WILL BY AGAIN
the CB radio that wouldn't work where I am currently but if I take it down the road to be right but I need it right here in the house so I returned it.

I purchase a Cobra CB HH 50 WX ST in September 2023. I tried using it a couple of times to test it and wasn't able to reach anyone, or any truckers near my freeway exit just about 200 to 300 yards away from where I was standing. I thought it was just me so I gave up. After two months I tried it again with help from a friend with another radio. They were able to receive my transmission up to about 300 yards away (outdoors in direct line of sight). Then nothing further away. This is super disappointing. I even bought and tried their upgraded antenna. The upgraded antenna made it worse and I couldn't even pickup the local NOAA station that I was able to pickup with the stock antenna. Being so disappointed, I called the number listed on Cobra's website where I bought the CB for help and the representative said that 300 - 400 yards is all it should be able to get since the radio is only 2 Watts. I told the representative that 300-400 yards is totally useless and I would have never bought it if I knew that's what I would get. I asked the representative if there is anything I can do and he said no. This completely changed my mind about buying a handheld CB radio for emergency communications, not very good if I can yell further than it can transmit.
This CB radio does not have enough power to pick up anything even remotely close. I would never buy this again and considering returning it as it doesn't work.
The quality of the machine is good but does not revive at all, the battery is good but I would not recommend for a hand held cb for any receiving does not work at all.
